The project consists of a 119,400 square-foot, five-story office building and a 212,750 — square-foot, three level parking structure.
The project is being funded by Proposition “O”, a half cent sales tax which was approved by El Cajon residents in November 2004.
The office building will include administrative and operational space for all divisions, a joint police and fire emergency operations center, community meeting room, modern communications center, indoor firing range, crime laboratory, property processing and storage area, short term custody facility and central data center.
KMA Architecture and Engineering is the primary architect and began design in the summer of 2006. The design and full environmental impact report became finalized in late 2008.
Ledcor Construction was awarded the construction contract in March 2009.
