The nominated Aperture design is an 11 story residential building of contemporary style located in the Little Italy district of downtown San Diego. Aperture’s location amidst the area’s charming restaurants, art galleries and boutiques and its unique design has made it one of downtown’s most coveted addresses. The project features 86 one- and two-story residential units with generous windows that offer sweeping views of the city and 4,000 square feet of commercial and retail space along Beech and Union Street. In addition to design, KMA provided mechanical and plumbing engineering.
The six-story ResMed commercial building, located in Kearny Mesa, is known for its modern architectural design and the elaborate drought tolerant landscaping of the building’s central park. The 250,000 square foot building also includes an exercise facility and a full-service cafeteria.
KMA was the executive architect, while Davis Davis Architects were the design architects for the building shell and public spaces.
