Construction is now complete for the new 40,000-square-foot United States border patrol station in Campo, which will be home for approximately 350 agents. KMA Architecture & Engineering (KMA) designed the new station, located at Kitchen Creek Road, off Old Highway 80, which is owned by the Immigration and Naturalization Service.
The facility now features areas for station maintenance and electronic repair and storage, vehicle maintenance, detention and processing areas. Spaces for a helipad for air operations support, horse corrals and kennels have been provided for future expansion. KMA also designed new training and fitness facilities. Additional facility improvements include new water, sewer, HVAC, electric service, security lighting, parking, storm drainage, communication and information systems and general site improvements. The Army Corps of Engineers managed design and construction operations, and KMA’s engineering team also served as electrical, mechanical and plumbing engineer.
